Mod. red leather, front boards with central monogram "VB", gilt spines with 4 raised bands (discol.), mod. endpapers, red edges. Nice, uniformly bound set.

Important Leuven imprints by the Leuven theologian Jean de Lens (Beloeil 1541-1593 Leuven) on the troubled times and the position of Catholic priests and their subjects. They give a clear picture of the views of the conservative party in the Dutch Revolt: no toleration, no freedom of religion, etc. Woodcut mark on titles. 1.
