Second edition of the complete works of Sasbout, containing the first edition of his translation in Latin verse of the first canto of the Iliad, composed when he was only 18 (pp. 696-701), together with some bible commentaries and a collection of homilies. Sasbout (Delft 1516-Louvain 1553) studied in Holland before taking courses in Philosophy and Hebrew at Leuven. He entered the order of the Franciscan Friars in 1544, teaching Sacred Scripture and gaining renown as a preacher at Leuven university. Text in 2 col. with ornamental initials. Printer's mark on title and verso of last leaf.
