3 parts in 2 vol., folio: [34]-707-[116-1 bl.], [8]-678-[117-1 bl.] pp. (some min. spotting, some min. browning, some soiling at blank margin of front.; Vol. I: f. A1 (French title) lacking; Vol. II: tiny wormhole in text from f. Y5 until the end, becoming sm. track in quires 2L-2M & 3M-3N, more tiny wormholes in last quires of index).

Contemp. sheep (rubbed, some tears to defects), richly gilt spine with 5 raised bands (joints rubbed), red sp. edges. Good copy.

Extensive history of Brabant (615-1623), with special attention to the recent period of the Dutch Revolt, by Haraeus (1550-1632), professor of rhetoric in Douai, later canon at Leuven. Engr. ill.: 2 titles by C. Galle and L. Vorsterman after Rubens and 44 (43, 1) fine full-page portraits of i.a. Dukes of Brabant, Princes of Netherlands, and Albert & Isabella. At end of each vol. woodcut printer's marks.
