First French translation by F. Bellenger (1688-1749) of William Derham's (1657-1735) "Astro-theology", first publ. 1714. Ill. with 3 engr. folding plates showing the solar system, the lunar cycle and a map of the moon. The work deals with the dimensions of the universe and the celestial bodies, the number of celestial bodies, the Milky Way, the new stars, the movements of the celestial spheres, gravity, etc.
