Sewn, contemp. blue marbl. wrappers (used), in mod. folders and slipcase. Good, uncut copy.
First Brussels edition (1st Paris 1813) of this travel account by the Saint-Quentin-born Paquet-Syphorien. Ill. with a folding map of "ci-devant Belgique" and 23 engr. ill. (some folding) showing maps (i.a. the canal of St-Quentin) or views of monuments (i.a. Manneken Pis, the Royal Palace, the Ypres cloth hall and the city halls of Leuven, Brussels and Antwerp). 1 table on the textile industry of St-Quentin. The author visits St-Quentin, Mons, Luxembourg, Liège, Bonn, Leuven, Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Dunkirk and Saint-Omer, and pays special attention to local production and industry, monuments and works of art.
