Lot description
2 parts in 1 vol., folio: [12]-48-[1-1 bl.]-70, [5-1 bl.]-64 pp. (fore-edge margin strengthened of 2nd f. and title, 1 pl. loose, some repairs at pl., some spotting).
19th-c. quarter mottl. calf (corners rubbed), gilt spine with 4 raised bands (joints rubbed, front joint partly split), red leather title label, marbl. paper on boards, marbl. endpapers. Good copy.
Profusely illustrated relation of the 1735 Jubilee commemorating the (antisemitic) legend about sacrilegious attacks by Jews on the sacred Hosts in 1369, with remarkable architecture plates (some signed by Harrewijn and Krafft). Illustrated with 25 (20, 5) etched plates in armorial rococo woodcut borders and 19 (16, 3) etched pl. representing triumphal arches (1 with "Manneken-Pis"), of which 2 folding. Woodcut front. & 1 folding pl.
