Later edition (first 1694), ill. with 136 engr. pl. (32, 56, 31, 17; of which some folding). The work deals with problems in arithmetic, gnomonics, cosmography, mechanics, pyrotechnics, geometry, optics, acoustics and physics. It contains the treatise on clocks by the Italian Dominique Martinelli de Spolete (first 1663, Venice) and further observations on water clocks, natural phosphors, perpetual lamps, etc. J. Ozanam (1640-1717) was a member of the Academy of Science and author of numerous works on mathematics, geometry and trigonometry.
