New edition (1st 1730) of the "Delights of Switzerland", one of the very first travel guides. It's a compilation of the original work (Leiden 1714) by the Protestant theologian Ruchat (1680-1750) and works by Abr. Stanyan et J.G. Altmann. Engr. ill. (complete): large folding map of Switzerland and 36 folding plates showing fossils, archeological finds, castles, monasteries, spa towns, views of cantons or cities (Zurich, Bern, Lucerne, Basel, Fribourg, Solothurn, Schaffhausen, Geneva) and natural views (Grindelwald, Rheinfall).
