4to: [16]-xxxii (= 32)-31-[5]-1112 pp. (sl. toned, minor spotting).
Contemp. gold-tooled vellum, covers with gilt ornamental border and large central arms, spine on 5 raised bands, red sp. edges. Excellent copy.
Important scholarly ed. of the Latin poet Claudian (370-404), esp. with notes by N. Heinsius (1620-1681) and P. Burmannus jr. (1713-1778). Title in red and black. The Hague prize binding (prize gone) with arms of c. 133 x 76 mm (similar to, but not identical with Spoelder ‘s-Gravenhage 3-5).
