Lot description
Cont. half vellum, marbl. covers, blindstamped flat spine. In good condition.
File assembled by the Brussels bookbinder H. Dubois dEnghien on the state of bookbinding in Belgium in the interbellum years, esp. on Charles de Samblanx: autograph or typed letters and postcards, newspaper cuttings, manuscript notes etc. Some correspondents: C. Gaudissart, Fr. Lauters, H. Wilbertz; cuttings from La Gazette, Pourquoi Pas?; manuscript copy of a fragment from G. Petits “Souvenirs dun bibliophile” (1942) etc. With a rare poster, dated 21 September 1914 (!) announcing the new term of the Brussels École professionnelle de reliure & de dorure dart. Some items loosely inserted, i.a. the auction catalogue of the library of Francis Lauters, sold 29-31 Jan. 1948 (Blogie I:454). Collectors stamp.
