Modern garnet cloth: flat spine, red title label. Untrimmed copy.

First edition, ill. (complete) with 6 pl. (2 fold.), by the author (1777-1837), a French painter, draftsman, engraver and writer, his daughter and pupil Espérance (1805-1864), painter and printmaker, and Lescanne père. 2 woodcuts by Brévière after the author: title vignette showing the cathedral and 1 full-p. vignette at the end of the text. List of subscribers. Copy enriched with documents: 5 postcards, 2 press excerpts, 6 pp. of notes (the first ones dated 1833 and incl. 1 full-page ink drawing). Joined: 1 postcard and prospectus from the Société française d'archéologie (1926).
