Lot description

2 vol. folio: front.-[38]-1/208-[4]-209/849, front.-[6]-1/562-[4]-563/1051-[1 bl.]-104 pp.; 2 pl. (long tear to pp. 243-244 in vol. II without loss, occ. light foxing to vol. II). Good inside condition.

Contemp. mottled calf, gilt orn. spines with raised bands, marbled edges (upper joint of vol. I partly split, scratches, lacks to tails, head of vol. II def., corners bumped).

Works edited by Isaacus Verburgius, incl. also notes by P. Victorius, J. Camerarius and F. Ursini and J. Gruterus. Illustrated with 2 frontispieces, Verbugius' portrait and 1 plate fig. portraits of Cicero and coins. Text in 2 col. Wide-margined copy.
