"Leo Belgicus" at the top left. 2 variants of a Lion rampant facing right published in 2 editions of Strada's "De Bello Belgico".
1. [ Amsterdam, Janssonius, 1648?]. With at the bottom in oblong scrolled strapwork cartouche "Famiani Stradae Romani e Societate Iesu. Decas Secunda". Sea blank. ref. Van der Heijden, Leo Belgicus, 13. - 1648, p. 65.
2. [Leiden, Jacques Marcus, 1643]. First state of this edition, with 3 small vessels in the blank sea and a wind rose beneath the curl of the lion's tail. At bottom a strapwork cartouche "Novus XVII. Inferioris Germaniae Provinciarum". Ref. Van der Heijden, Leo Belgicus, 12.1 - 1643, p. 62.
