Folio: [16]-803-[69] pp. (toned, light dampstain at margins quire BB).
Contemp. blind-stamped calf, spine with 5 raised bands, paper title label (sl. rubbed, some scratches, corners bumped, spine repaired, ties gone). Good copy.
First Plantin ed. (orig. Leuven 1605) of the major work of L. Lessius (1554-1623), a commentary on Thomas Aquinas’ views of "Justice", including an essay on the ethics of economics. "Although new editions had been published earlier in Paris (1606) and in Venice (1608), Moretus still called his 1609 edition the second edition. Several other Plantin editions were published (1612, 1617, ...), with, from 1617 onwards, a title page designed by P.P. Rubens" (Imhof). Ill. with engraved title. Woodcut printer's mark at the end.
