Impressive collection of approx. 6000 postcards.

Mostly first half of the 20th c. and later. Partially photographical, b/w or coloured, blank or written, with or without stamps.

Partly classified topographically or thematically but a lot still to be classified. Most cards in good condition (some however with waterstains due to the removal of stamps).

1. Iconographical postcards, partly stamped and written but predominantly blank, mostly of European touristical sites, partly classified by country: Germany, Luxemburg, France (Bordeaux, Vichy, Versailles, Rouen, Strasbourg, ...), Italy (Venice, Sienna, Capri, Frascati, ...), Great Britain, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Russia (+/- 75 pcs), Romania (+/- 60 pcs), etc. - 2. Some 20 iconographical souvenir albums with dozens of postcards from or concerning Cologne, Prague, Berlin, Sintra, Lisboa, Monserrate, Venice, Milan, Le Havre, as well as historical souvenirs (" Le Circuit des forts", "Ypres during and after the war", "Moere-Coeckelaere Batterie du Long Max", "Zillebeke après la guerre", "Souvenir du Fort de Loncin"). - 3. A large collection of iconographical views of Belgian cities (Brussels, with i.a. +/- 30 pcs of Manneken-Pis, Antwerp with i.a. the "Consciencestoet", Dendermonde, Tilff, Ostend, Knokke, Mons, Tournai, some 100 of the College St. Paul in Godinne, etc.). - 4. Hundreds of cards concerning the European Royalties: Great Britain (Coronation of George V), Belgium (+/- 150 i.a. Coronation and obsequies of several kings), the birth of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands (+/- 90 pcs), +/- 70 pcs of the German imperial family, Romania, Greece, etc. - 5. Iconographical postcards, partly stamped, partly written, partly classified, of Hong Kong (more than 100 pcs !), Congo, China, Korea, Malaysia, Israël, etc. - 6. Decorative cards: mostly first quarter to half 20th c. concerning a variety of items, such as: reproductions of paintings, sculptures, New Year and Easter cards, children cards, cards showing sports, dogs, horses, portraits of young nice girls sending greetings, humor ("Fin du monde"), flowers, love, boats, cars (+/- 60 on Minerva car), folklore & costumes, +/- 150 cards of actors and actresses (Shirley Temple, Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson, Charles Boyer, Fernandel etc.), some 15 pcs showing the Carnaval of Nice, but also cards showing some historical events: +/- 60 cartoons concerning WWI, +/- 30 cards dealing with the Peace Conference of 1907 in The Haghe, the International Exhibition in Liège in 1905, +/- 50 cards on WWII, +/- 60 pcs on the Belgian Revolution in 1830,etc. To notice: some goldheightened, 1 collage with flowers, some with glitter, some with folding views. We join: 1. A collection of +/- 70 armorial cut-outs or stamps, mounted on separate cards. - 2. A number of devotional prints celebrating communion or confirmation and other ephemeral printed matter. - 3. Some photographs of various items. .
