Luxurious colour facsimile of the "Grandes Heures" of Anne of Brittany (her Book of Hours), a masterpiece of French painting, dated c. 1503-1508 in the Tours region. Ill. with 49 full-page miniatures by Jean Bourdichon (1457-1521), each scene within a gold frame painted upon a ground of parchment dyed black, and border decorated with 337 illuminations showing plants, insects and small mammals.
