Lot description
Engraving, 28,2 x 21 cm, laid paper with watermark (eagle), signed "J. Saenredam sculp. / L" (trimmed on platemark, few stains, sl. browned, numb. 29 in pen).
Mounted at upper edge, under passe-partout.
After a drawing by Lucas van Leyden from 1517. The engraving is a counterpiece to the print of Judith and Holofernes by Saenredam. 2nd state before later addresses.
