Lot description

Etching and drypoint, 20,7 x 16,2 cm, wove paper, signed "Rembrandt f.", dated 1651 (foxed, sl. browned, water stains and sm. tear on edges).

Charming portrait of the Amsterdam print dealer Clement de Jonghe. From the original plate etched by Rembrandt in 1651. Later impression of the 8th state before the triangular space on the chair was shaded again and the face was retouched.
