Lot description
Brown ink, watercolour, c. 13,0 x 16,3 cm, laid paper, Latin text (few sm. light stains, light folds on corners from former mount).
Good condition. Framed.
Charming set with Cupid riding a horse and plowing a field. After the engravings by Jacques de Gheyn II (1565-1629) for Daniel Hensius's "Quaeris quid sit amor", first published c. 1601 (n. 23, 24). Each drawing has the accompanying Latin verses around the drawing in a contemporary hand.
