This map was originally the 2nd sheet of a large wall map by H. Hondius and was also published seperately in various Mercator-Hondius atlases. When de Wit later acquired the plate, he changed the title cartouche (replacing the warriors by a female figure and 2 putti) and reworked the map twice; this copy being the 4th state overall (2nd by de Wit).
