Contemp. half red long-grained calf, marbled paper on covers, flat spines (corners rubbed and bumped, sl. rubbed spines).

First edition by the French pharmacist and goguettier Ch.-L. Cadet de Gassicourt (1769-1821). Ill. with 6 fold. pl. Cadet de Gassicourt takes up the notions developed by Macquer forty years earlier, updating them, thanks to the discoveries of Lavoisier in particular.
