Lot description
12mo: [28 incl. engr. title]-384-[1] pp. (some normal toning and light spots).
Contemp. sheep, triple gilt fillet on boards, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands, gilt sides, red edges (joints split, sl. rubbed, some stains on back cover, corners bumped).
Early edition by Petrus Scriverius (1576-1660) of the collected Latin verses of the famous love poet Janus Secundus (1511-1536). Engr. medal on title (the poet’s beloved Julia) and full-page portrait of the author in-text.
