Contemp. mottled sheep, gilt-orn. spine with red leather label, gilt sides and inner dentelles (tail missing, edges sl. rubbed, corners bumped). Large-margined copy.
First edition printed by the order of the King (of England according to Barbier). Narrative of the military campaign led by Menno van Coenhoorn (1641-1704), counterpart of Vauban, in order to let the impatient William of Orange and his allied troops regain control of Namur, conquered 3 years earlier by France and the troops of Vauban. Complete with 4 folding maps by N. Visscher: "Plan de la ville & château de Namur", "Carte particulière des mouvements faits", "Plan des lignes et campements", "Plan du camp" engr. by Van Gouwen after Ottomar Elliger.
