Copper engr., 46,5 x 54,3 cm (traces of central fold).
Rare and uncommon map, figuring the east coast of North America with the large, famous and detailed inset or "Restitutio view" of New York entitled "Nieuw Amsterdam onlangs Nieuw Jorck", celebrating the brief re-capture of New Amsterdam by the Dutch on the English in August 1673. Elaborate, allegorical cartouche with native inhabitants. Third state (with Hugo Allard's imprint), verso blank.
