18mo, 13 x 9 cm: [94] ff. + some blanks, coats of arms drawn in pen, some cut from engr. armorial books and enhanced with watercolour, captions and notes in Dutch and French (occ. browning and sm. stains).
18th-c. vellum, brass clasp, painted coat of arms on spine (endpapers renewed). Good copy.
The van der Goes family were Dutch regents from Delft. From the 16th c. to the present day the van der Goes family has provided several grand pensionaries and ministers. The painter Hugo van der Goes is one of their most illustrious ancestors. Ill. with more than 2.000 coats of arms, coloured except for a few, all identified. At the end: "Armoiries de plus nobles d'Angleterre" (6 ff.), "Les barons Beers et bannerettes de Flandres" (5 ff.).
