Contemp. overl. limp vellum, flat spine titled in ink (sl. soiled, endpapers lifted). Nice copy.

Second Plantin edition of the classic emblem book by A. Alciatus (1492-1550) with commentary by Claude Mignault (1536-1606), prof. in Canon law in Paris. Illustrated with 169 woodcut emblems. Woodcut printer's mark on title.
