Black chalk, brown ink, brown wash, 22,7 x 35,3 cm, laid paper with watermark (anchor in circle with star), unsigned, numb. E192 in red chalk on verso (few spots, sm. red stain, sm. hole strengthened, few sm. creases, traces of former mount on verso).

Good condition. Hinged at upper edges. Under passe-partout and frame (studied outside frame).

Dynamic drawing of the head of an Italian city-state coming down several steps. On the verso a study of 2 monks in black chalk and brown ink. Same provenance as the large album with Leonardo and Pisanello drawings in the Louvre (Vallardi).
