Black chalk and white wash, 56,5 x 43 cm, signed and dated, prepared paper with watermark (unidentified).
Portrait in quarter profile of unidentified stately bearded man. Biot (1833-1905) was a Belgian painter and etcher who had won the Prix de Rome in 1855. He taught print techniques at the Art Academy of Antwerp and was a close friend of Auguste Rodin.
