Engraving, 24,2 x 16,7 cm, laid paper with watermark (fool's cap), signed "Ant. van Dyck pinxit. / S. à Bolswert sculpsit.", Latin text (ms. notes in pencil outside platemark, hinges still present on verso).
Good impression with wide margins. Excellent condition.
Refined engraving after Anthony van Dyck's (1599-1641) portrait in Madrid (Prado, inv. P001495). The Scottish Lady demonstrates her Catholic faith by displaying a small crucifix.
