Gouache on panel, 17,8 x 14,3 cm (visible), signed and dated "Mathias Schm[?]er 1811" (some paint losses outside central portrait).
In gilt sculpted frame (not studied outside frame).
Refined portrait of Marie Louise (1791-1847), second wife of Napoleon and French Empress. Dated the year after their marriage, hence the eagle with ring at bottom.
