18th-c. mottled sheep, gilt spine on 5 raised bands, marbled edges, decorative pastedowns (rubbed, spine wormed). Good copy.

1st ed. of an extensive commentary by the French Franciscan theologian François de Meyronnes (1285-1327) on the "Sententiae", the standard medieval theological and philosophical textbook of the Parish bishop Peter Lombard (1096-1160). Printed in gothic type, in 2 cols. Capital spaces with pen guide-letters. On a2r a decorative 7-line gilt initial with red, blue, green and creamy penwork extending into the inner margin with coloured flowery forms and gilt dots, and penwork decoration in the margin between the columns.
