Folio: [156] ff., 32 ll. (sl. toned, a few ff. spotted, bottom edge f. [21] strengthened).

18th-19th-c. crimson morocco, covers with triple gilt ruled border, gilt spine on 5 raised bands with green labels, gilt sides, gilt inside dentelles, a.e.g., marbl. endpapers, pink silk marker (rubbed at corners, lower cover scratched, marker loose and tanned). Very good copy.

One of only 5 books from the short-lived Roman press of Oliverius Servius, 1480-1481. Editio princeps (2nd ed. 1484) of the elegant Latin "Abbreviatio" by the humanist Pope Pius II (1405-1464) of Flavius Blondus’s (1392-1463) history from the fall of the western Roman Empire to his own day.
