Lot description
Engraving, 23,7 x 16,2 cm, laid paper with watermark (crowned shield with fleur-de-lys), signed at bottom left: "Ant. van Dyck pinxit", adress at bottom right: "Mart. vanden Enden excudit Cum privilegio", in lower margin: "LUCAS VAN UDEN" (trimmed on platemark at bottom, spot, hinges still present on verso).
Good impression, mostly with margins. Good condition.
Early impression of the portrait of the Antwerp landscape painter Lucas van Uden (ca. 1595-1673) holding a landscape drawing. Engraved by Lucas Vorsterman I (ca. 1595-1675) for the famous "Iconography" of Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641). 2nd state with the original address and before the signature of Vorsterman and the expanded title.
