A finely engr., large atlas with 200 pl. of mainly Greek, Etruscan and Roman art. Winckelmann (1717-1768) was a German art historian, archaeologist and pioneering Hellenist who first articulated the difference between Greek, Greco-Roman and Roman art. The 12 vol. of text are not present.
