Lot description

8vo: 159 pp. (toning, minor spotting).

Contemp. sheep (rubbed), gilt spine with 4 raised bands (joints split, head & tail def.). Good copy.

Only edition of a satirical emblem book (without images) by the Augustinian poet Jan de Leenheer (1642-1691). Ill. with engr. title and 2 emblematical text pl. Emblems described in Latin and Dutch. Without the (mostly missing) final privilege leaf L1.
