Rare first French edition ascribed to Charles Fontaine, published in the same year as the Latin and Italian versions, of this historical promptuarium illustrated with ca. 800 woodcut medals figuring portraits of rulers and great characters from the beginning of the world. Mostly engraved by Georges Reverdy, but also after drawings of portraits by Corneille de Lyon i.a. Accompanied with a small biography.
