Amsterdam issue of this "jolie édition" (Brunet) of a successful illustrated Bible (1st ed.: 1669 or 1670?) ascribed to N. Fontaine (1625-1709), secretary to Antoine Arnauld and Isaac Le Maistre de Sacy, sometimes ascribed to the latter. Engr. ill. unsigned, mostly inspired by a German bible by M. Merian: front. with Wetstein's imprint, title-vignette and 267 mid-page ill., one per biblical episode.
