Jan Blockx (1851-1912), composer and pianist, was the director of the conservatory of Antwerp and is considered as the leader of the Flemish nationalist school in music. 6 letters sent to unidentified correspondents: "Très Estimé Monsieur", "Illustre Maître", etc., 1 postcard addressed to "Messieurs Kufferath et Guidé", directors of the Theatre of La Monnaie in Brussels, and 1 short musical quotation to "Monsieur Guilliaum (?) le plus aimable, le plus spirituel pensionnaire de l'hôtel des artistes à Genck". Various topics: invitation to concerts, sending of music pieces, etc., and a long discussion about the appreciation of the opera "Baldie" by Guillaume Guidé and Maurice Kufferath ("[...] Tu vois que chez K. l'enthousiasme de l'artiste est, comme toujours, plus pressé de se montrer que le calcul du Directeur [...]").
