First and only ed. of this compendium of rights and privileges accorded to the Nine Nations of Brussels, which derives from a collection of documents found in a strongbox in 1698. The Governor General Maximilian II Emmanuel banned this book by order of King Charles II, fearing that the members of the Nations use it to justify demands for greater autonomy. Engr. ill.: 1 title, 2 folding pl., 1 full-page pl. and 3 head-pieces by Harrewijn. This edition has three title pages (in Spanish, French and Dutch), each followed by a dedication in the same language.
