Lot description

1. Artocarpus integrifolia (Jak-tree). 28,3 x 22,4 cm, pasted on cardboard, with legend and photographer's name on lower part of photo. Under passe-partout. The jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), also known as jack tree, is a species of tree in the fig, mulberry, and breadfruit family (Moraceae). Its origin is in the region between the Western Ghats of southern India, all of Sri Lanka and the rainforests of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. - 2. Ficus elastica (india rubber). 21,7 x 28 cm, with legend and photographer's name on lower part of photo. Under passe-partout. Ficus elastica or rubber tree, is a species of flowering plant in the family Moraceae, native to eastern parts of South Asia and southeast Asia. It has become naturalized in Sri Lanka, the West Indies, and the US State of Florida.
Joined: Clifton & Co (attributed to) - Street view with a rickshaw. Late 19th c. Albumen print, 21,8 x 28 cm, without legend, unsigned. Under passe-partout. Possibly a dirt road in Sri Lanka with overhanging rubber trees and a rickshaw pulled by a mule. (3 pcs)
