Drawing, pencil, 23 x 15 cm, wove paper (sm. tears in margins, sl. foxed and toned).

De Saegher (Gavere 1871-1941) was the founder and inspirer of the artists' association "Vie et Lumière" in 1904. He worked for a better dissemination of Belgian Luminism in Belgium and abroad. He fiercely defended the technique of pastel as the ideal medium to reflect light and atmosphere. Paul Bergmans (1868-1935) was bibliographer, chief librarian of the University of Ghent and professor at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy.
Joined: Two cartoonish depictions of Bergmans (recto verso). Lithograph, ca. 15 x 10 cm, laid paper, one with monogram on the lower left. (2 pcs)
