20th-c. red calf, blind-ruled covers, gilt spine, decorative endpapers (sl. tanned and scratched). Good copy.
Original ed. (repr. Nürnberg 1599) of a Latin schoolplay by the Dutch Reformed humanist Gnapheus (De Volder, 1493-1568), at that time rector of the Latin School of Elbing, a Prussian city, member of the Hanseatic Ligue (now Polish Elblag). “Morosophus” ("the Foolish Scholar" or "the Wise Fool") is a comedy about true and feigned wisdom.
