4to: [36]-198-[12] pp. (front.: spotted and sm. tear in lower blank margin; large tear in folding portrait rather clumsily underlaid; spotting, mostly marg.).

Contemp. blind-stamped vellum (inner hinges weak), flat spine (front joint & tail def.). Good copy.

Re-issue of the first Dutch trsl. (1703) annotated by David van Hoogstraten (1658-1724). Engr. ill. (complete): front. with medallion portrait of Amalia of Orange by P. Bouttats after J. Goeree, title vign., beautiful head- and tailpieces, historiated initials, folding portrait of D. van Hoogstraten by P. van Gunst after A. Boonen, and 107 circular vignettes by J. van Vianen. Title in red and black.
