Mod. three-quarter light green cloth, marbled paper covers, flat spines with green leather labels, wr. preserved.
Renowned work of Bonnier (Paris 1853-1922), French botanist and professor at the Sorbonne, published in issues from 1911 until 1934 (?) and often reprinted. After Bonnier's death, the publication was continued by Robert Douin. Complete with the 121 instalments (incl. the general table) and the 721 plates in colour figuring more than 3,500 species of plants and flowers. Detailed descriptions containing their names (in Latin, French, German, Dutch, Italian and English), presentation, location and subspecies.
