Lot description

Nicolas Joseph Delin (1741-1803), also known as De Ligne, was a Belgian artist, sought for his murals and interior decorations in trompe-l'oeuil. Some of his drawings, such as the Assumption of Mary (RP-T-1918-487), are now in the collection of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, which bears an identical signature. Both contain a ms. title at the bottom margin.
