Lot description
1st half 17th c
Oil on vellum, with gilding, 17,5 x 12,5 cm, unsigned (some loss of paint around the edges).
Under 19th-c. frame (not studied outside frame).
St Mary Magdalen praying in front of a crucifix, bible, inkwell with quill and ointment jar in a grotto. The composition is loosely based on Goltzius' print of the same subject.
