Watercolour, 15 x 22 cm, laid paper, signed and dated at support sheet "J. J. Tardieu" (laid down on blue paper with gilt borders, some min. stains).
Jean-Jacques Tardieu was a French architect (active 1780-1820), who designed city palaces for the Parisian bourgeoisie. During his travels he made many Romantic drawings, such as this one of a northern Italian monastery.
