Lot description
12mo (ca. 17,5 x 12 cm): [146] ff., 23 ll. parchment, black and red ink (water stains on some lvs, light soiling and sm. stains, some later notes in purple ink).
Contemp. blind-decorated brown morocco on wooden boards, triple frame with rolls, fillets and sm. circles, large central cross, flat spine with a design of crosses enclosed in lozenges, doublures decorated with fillets, central part left uncovered (spine sl. curved, sl. cracked with some sm. lacks of leather).
Manuscript written in the Ge'ez script (old Ethiopian), the liturgical language of the Ethiopian Church. Neat calligraphy in black ink with red touches and subtitles, in a traditional archaic style. Last part written in 2 col. Decorated with 2 contemp. sober headpieces. Fragments of a chromolithography (postcard?) pasted on the first flyleaf.
