Corrected enlarged 3rd edition (1st 1752) by the German writer and statesman for the Kingdom of Prussia during the Age of Enlightenment J. Bielfeld (1717-1770). Ill. with one engr. fold. map "Allemagne littéraire". Bielfeld certainly intended in this work to please his sovereign by showing how much the princes of the house of Brandenburg, and especially "le monarque qui occupe aujourd'hui le trône" had "la glorieuse maxime d'accorder à leurs sujets une entière liberté de penser & une protection généreuse à tous les talents".
