Contemp. sheep (rubbed), gilt spine with 5 raised bands (rubbed, joints splitting). Good copy.
2nd ed. (1st 1705) of a scholarly study of Islam by the Utrecht oriental scholar Relandus (1676-1718), based on manuscripts in his own collection. On pp. 1-120 "Compendium theologiae Mohammedicae Arabice et Latine" (ed. of Arabic texts, with a Latin trsl.). Engr. ill.: full-page portrait of Relandus by B. Bernarts, front. by Bernarts [!] after J. Goeree, 4 folding engravings (the genealogy of Muhammed, Muslims at prayer, a view of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and a large view of Mecca) and 1 sm. ill. in-text. Title in red and black. Texts in Latin and Arabic, with passages in Hebrew.
